SHAUN THOMPSON
Assistant Music Creative Lead

Originally from York, Shaun moved to London to study at Trinity College of Music in 1984, going on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in orchestral performance at Goldsmiths College.
As a clarinet and saxophone player Shaun has worked with all the major orchestras and has performed in dozens of West End shows and film soundtracks.
He is hugely committed to music education and currently holds a position at the University of West London as a music lecturer.
He has been a mainstay of the London Symphony Orchestra’s Discovery Education Programme for the last three decades, visiting schools, coaching young players and working with SEN students on a wide variety of creative projects.
Shaun also works frequently with Jessie’s Fund and Music for Youth.
He is also an active and accomplished songwriter, composer and improviser with a lifelong love of jazz - skills he finds enormously valuable when working on creative education projects.
