SOME OF OUR WORK
CASE STUDY: SEN SCHOOL WORKSHOP
The Great Little Music Company were introduced to Cunningham House, a sheltered accommodation house in Surrey, who had been gifted a workshop. Cunningham House expressed a desire to invite children from the neighbouring SEN school, Knowl Hill.
6 school children and 6 residents enjoyed a wonderful morning of music and movement creativity with Kate and Sarah. Prompted by group discussion, the ideas and innovation was inspired by the participants themselves and it was a joy to see people from such diverse generations discarding their inhibitions, inspiring each other, sharing ideas and having such fun.

CASE STUDY: PARKINSON'S WORKSHOP
Supported by an anonymous donor, we designed an event for Pirbright Arts and Cure Parkinson’s, creating a movement and music session that was interactive and cross-generational.
Our Senior Music Creative Lead, Sara Freestone, inspired a musical piece with an ad hoc mini band of amateur and novice musicians to accompany ingeniously designed choreography created by Kate Finegan (Senior Movement Creative Lead). In a workshop of under 3 hours, everyone joined in to create an impressive piece that was performed in front of invited friends and relatives, to a terrific response.
Several Parkinson’s patients had been extremely anxious about attending, but after a short time revelled in the activities, speaking of the joy of participation, engagement and abandoning troubles, whilst family members and carers (who also took part) observed more open, relaxed and carefree loved ones.
The hall was a very happy, buoyant, positive place and the event made a significant contribution towards a £3000 donation to Cure Parkinson’s.
