JOHN SUCHET OBE
Advisory Board
John’s lifelong passion for classical music has become a second career for him. He has written more than a dozen books on composers, including eight on his lifetime fascination, Beethoven.

For more than a decade he presented Classic FM’s flagship morning show, and then the Classic FM Concert with John Suchet.
Prior to this he was best known as one of the country’s most popular television reporters, covering major world events such as the Iran Revolution, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and the Philippines Revolution. He then became a newscaster for ITN, presenting all major bulletins including News at Ten.
In 2008 the Royal Television Society accorded him its highest accolade, the Lifetime Achievement Award.
John and his wife Nula met under the most extraordinary circumstances. Both had spouses in care, living with dementia. Having gone through the trauma of slowly losing the loves of their lives, they were there for each other when ultimately each had to cope with that dreadful loss.
In 2016 John and Nula married, showing that there can be a happy ending, even to the saddest of circumstances, and both John and Nula are now ambassadors for the Alzheimer’s Society.
