ANDY GRAPPY
Assistant Music Creative Lead

Andy is a busy freelance tuba player, working in many different areas of music.
He has performed with most of the major London Orchestras and is the principal tuba for Chineke Orchestra. His jazz and world music experience includes playing with John Dankworth, Jazz Warriors, Lester Bowie, Hermeto Pascoal, Sam Rivers, Charlie Haden and Carla Bley.
He played tuba in the West End musical Chicago for ten years. He has worked with artists as diverse as Tom Jones, Damon Albarn, Bellowhead, Massive Attack and Disclosure.
He is a workshop leader, music mentor for Music For Youth and was the artistic lead for the London Symphony Orchestra’s Next Generation scheme. Andy is highly involved in community music making in addition to his current roles as Deputy Head of Music at Notting Hill Prep School and Head of Southwark Music Centre.
