Andrea teaches percussion at the Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham's School of Music.
As a creative practitioner she explores a variety of genres and creative starting points including storytelling, soundscapes, junk percussion, drumming circles and world music, with plenty of opportunity for improvisation and composition.
Workshop highlights include a community residency in the Shetland Islands, writing and recording wake-up calls for NASA’s International Space Station, and directing the world’s first Bucket-and-Spade Orchestra.
She won the Manchester Culture Awards for Best Performance and the Royal Northern College of Music award for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching and Learning.
Andrea is equally at home working with musicians and groups such as Lewis Capaldi, Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Hallé and Manchester Camerata.
